We recommend this itinerary to all lovers of wilderness and solitude. Its name originates from the Tarangire River, which crosses through the park and is the sole water source during the dry season. Tarangire’s landscape is incredibly diverse, with a mix not found anywhere else on the northern safari circuit. It comprises ancient baobab trees, which the Maasai believe are the first tree in creation, and giant termite mounds. The dry season sees the harsh sun suck the moisture from the landscape, baking the earth a dusty red, while the wet season brings dense bush and luscious high grasses. Later in the evening you will drive to your accommodation for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Even though it has the least number of mammals in all Northern circuit parks, Lake Manyara makes up for it in its unique wilderness which entails of scenic landscapes such as such as Rift valley, dense woodlands and stunning mountain side.

This park is a great starting point for an adventure. It lies in Northern circuit of Tanzania and it is 130km from Arusha and approximately 2 hours’ drive. The 60% of this park is covered by the lake which is 330sq km and the other 40 % 0r 132sq km is a forest harboring over 100 species of birds and array of mammals such as elephant, blue monkeys, giraffe and Zebra and leopard and lions to name a few.

Lake Manyara National Park centers around its eponymous alkaline lake, a key habitat for hundreds of bird species. Ngorongoro Crater was one of the World Heritage sites in 1979 and is one of the only places on earth where humankind and wild animals mingle in harmony. The Ngorongoro Crater is famous for Africa’s best game viewing, with an ever-present abundance of wildlife due to the permanent water supply on the crater floor.

The Serengeti also has bush elephant, cape buffaloes, birds like Kori bustard, Fischer’s and many others.

A famous spot for the river crossing, the Mara River is situated in the Mara Region entering through both Kenya and Tanzania.

Over the 1.2 million wildebeest and Zebra along with gazelle and topi move in a constant cycle through the endless plain to Mara ecosystem searching for nutrition’s grass and water each year. This is the time of the year where hungry predators such as Leopard, cheetah, wild dogs, crocs make sure only the strongest survive. This is a great show during the game drive. Keep your eyes open as at the river crossing while trying to avoid predators, this is where crocodiles bide their time like the beast they are.
